The Congregation of the Mother of Carmel commonly known as the CMC are the Centralized Religious Institute of Consecrated Life of Pontifical Right (for Women). We are a female religious congregation dedicated to apostolic and missionary activities. Our Province, Mount Carmel Province Bhopal is dedicated to serve the needs of the people of God in Madhya Pradesh, Utter Pradesh and Orissa under the jurisdiction of the archdioceses of Bhopal, Agra and the dioceses of Ujjain and Balasore. Our ministries help in bringing about a more peaceful, just, enlightened and loving world mainly through the ministry of education. We also extend our service in the field of healing ministry and social work. Founded by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a nineteenth-century Indian educator and reformist, we are open to the cultural values of the places in which we work, we try to understand them and welcome their values, to embody the message of the gospel.
