Mount Carmel Province, Bhopal
The Mount Carmel Province of the C.M.C. in Central India originated as an offshoot of Holy Queens Province Changanacherry. In the year 1968 a few officers of B.H.E.L. company met Rt. Rev. Dr. Eugene D' Souza, the then Archbishop of Bhopal and discussed matters regarding the possibility of getting the C.M.C sisters to open an English Medium School for the children of the B.H.E.L Township. He shared it with Mar Mathew Kavukatt, the then Archbishop of Changanacherry who in turn communicated this idea to the Provincial Superior of Holy Queen's Province, Changanacherry. Without much delay, the General and Provincial level discussions were held dreaming a new horizon. Accepting the invitation, the major superiors came to Bhopal for a preliminary survey.
